Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Research and Grants Administrator include:
Collaborating closely with principal investigators, grants officers, and fiscal officers at funded institutions to ensure effective management of research awards, including reporting, communications, and outcomes.
Managing awards to ensure compliance with American Heart Association policies and procedures, determining corrective processes and actions for any awards that are not compliant.
Monitoring on-time submissions and making decisions regarding any requested exceptions or change requests.
Managing award budgets, which range from $30,000 to $400,000, to ensure they meet the Association's budgetary allowances and requirements.
Reviewing and approving annual financial reports for compliance with policies.
Reviewing and approving award agreements, including contracts and subcontracts for funded projects, particularly those related to special research initiatives.
Providing information and consultation to various customer groups, including awardees, institutional personnel, and sponsors.
Serving as a backup to the Research and Grants Administrationsenior manager, generating and analyzing reconciliation reports for finance staff, and managing a multi-million dollar quarterly payment process.
Conducting data quality reviews to evaluate the accuracy of information related to transferring and terminating awards. 1
Participating in the annual institution selection and audit process. 1
Assisting management with special projects as needed or assigned.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Associate Research and Grants Administrator position include:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
