Job Overview:

Interns will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the communications team to create social media content and develop communication strategies that promote the AHA's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for assisting with event planning and support, which includes coordinating logistics for multiple community events, managing on-site event activities, and conducting outreach to engage participants. They will also assist in preparing materials for sponsor presentations and maintaining relationships with sponsors. Data management is another key responsibility, where the intern will help with data entry, report generation, and organizing event-related information. Administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing supplies will also be part of the role. Additionally, the intern will support Hands-Only CPR events and assist in creating and posting content for blogs and social media, as well as writing press releases to promote local events.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should preferably be seniors or graduate students pursuing degrees in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management. Experience or interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising is highly desirable. Proficiency in various social media platforms is required, along with demonstrated excellence in written communication skills. Candidates should possess effective oral and presentation communication skills and be comfortable working with community leaders, volunteers, and staff. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential, as is proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of Canva is also required. A reliable WiFi connection and transportation are necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
The ideal educational background for this internship includes a focus on business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management. Candidates should be in their senior year of college or pursuing a graduate degree in one of these fields to be considered for the position.

Experience:
The internship is designed for candidates who have some experience or a strong interest in event planning, fundraising, or communications.
