Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will assist in various aspects of event planning and support, including coordinating logistics for community events, managing on-site event activities, and conducting outreach to participants. Responsibilities also include preparing materials for sponsors, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and conducting research for potential sponsors. Interns will be tasked with data entry, report generation, and organizing event-related information to track progress. Administrative duties will involve preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing supplies necessary for events. This multifaceted role requires effective communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be seniors or graduate students pursuing degrees in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management. Experience or interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising is preferred. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with the ability to work professionally with community leaders and volunteers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required. Interns must have reliable WiFi and transportation to commute to downtown Chicago, and they must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management. This educational background will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the AHA's mission and the specific responsibilities of the internship.
