Job Overview: The Country Programme Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the organization's programs within South Africa. Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement program strategies that align with the organization's mission and local community needs.
Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all programs within South Africa.
Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability for all program expenditures.
Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, local partners, and other stakeholders.
Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Prepare and present reports on program progress to senior management and stakeholders.
Lead and mentor program staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Represent the organization at local and national forums to advocate for program initiatives and secure support.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in program management, preferably in a non-profit or development context.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on results.
Knowledge of the socio-economic and political landscape of South Africa is essential.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, public administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience working in South Africa or similar contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in one or more local languages is considered an asset and will enhance communication with local communities.
