Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of logistics and supply chain activities within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of logistics processes, including procurement, transportation, and inventory management. The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure that all logistical needs are met efficiently and effectively. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment. The Logistics Coordinator will also be expected to maintain accurate records and reports related to logistics operations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in logistics operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.
  • Liaise with external partners, including suppliers and transportation providers, to facilitate logistics operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of logistics processes and identify areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in logistics management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management is required. Experience in a humanitarian or development context is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the unique challenges faced in these environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the official language of Niger. Proficiency in English is highly desirable and will be considered an asset, especially for communication with international partners and stakeholders.
