Job Overview: The Digital Asset Management Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the American Heart Association’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. The manager will be responsible for driving the adoption of the DAM system across various teams, ensuring that users are trained and equipped to utilize the system efficiently. Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Digital Asset Management Manager include:
Overseeing the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the AHA’s DAM system (Bynder).
Developing and enforcing metadata structures, taxonomy, tagging, and naming conventions for efficient asset retrieval.
Providing training and ongoing support to internal teams to enhance DAM adoption and usability.
Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with vendors or IT teams as necessary.
Establishing and maintaining governance policies to ensure brand consistency, compliance, and proper usage rights.
Conducting regular audits to ensure assets are up to date, properly categorized, and compliant with licensing agreements.
Collaborating with the National Marketing Communications Department and other cross-functional teams to streamline asset workflows.
Maintaining department credibility across a heavily matrixed environment by developing strategic relationships.
Identifying and executing strategic needs to evolve the DAM system based on business goals and user feedback. 1
Communicating DAM updates and strategy across leadership and key stakeholders to align goals and drive adoption. 1
Gathering feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the DAM system and processes. 1
Staying current with industry trends and advancements in digital asset management technology.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Digital Asset Management Manager position include:
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a DAM system, with experience in Bynder DAM being a plus.
Five (5) years of experience in a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in leading and implementing a successful marketing asset management strategy.
Strong understanding of metadata structures, taxonomy, and digital asset workflows.
Experience in training users and driving the adoption of digital tools across an organization.
Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with creative file formats, licensing rights, and brand compliance best practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with various business teams and functions such as creative, marketing, communications, IT, and operations teams. 1
