Job Overview: The National Senior Lead for Community Health will play a pivotal role in the American Heart Association's efforts to enhance community health through collaboration and equitable health initiatives. This position is designed for a passionate individual who will work closely with the Community Health team and Initiative team to identify local action needs and support local teams in achieving their objectives. The Senior Lead will be responsible for leading multi-organization workgroups, facilitating communication between national and local teams, and ensuring that initiative priorities align with community impact opportunities. Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead multi-organization workgroups to identify local action needs and communicate expectations with both national and local teams.
Support local teams in achieving initiative objectives through coaching and connecting them with necessary resources.
Ensure the integration of initiative priorities with community impact opportunities.
Manage the subgrant award process, including proposal/application review, execution of agreements, monitoring deliverables, and authorizing award payment installments.
Collaborate with the evaluation team to support initiative evaluation, identifying necessary reporting and ensuring achievement of reporting needs.
Work with the marketing and communications team to support the initiative's marketing strategy, contribute to impact reports, and elevate market stories.
Identify local resource needs and connect with existing resources or facilitate the development of new resources.
Facilitate the development and management of community advisory teams, including models for recruiting members, managing meetings, and applying recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of five (5) years of strong communication and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience in team management and coalition building.
At least five (5) years of consulting experience, particularly in advising staff without a direct reporting relationship.
Five (5) years of demonstrated ability to effectively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of community health initiatives and the ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, particularly in roles that involve strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
