Job Overview:
The Region Senior Development Consultant plays a crucial role in the SouthWest region, providing consulting services to development staff who lead major fundraising campaigns such as Heart Challenge, Heart Ball, and Go Red for Women. This position is primarily home-office based, with a preference for candidates located in SouthWest states including Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. The consultant will be responsible for training and advising on fundraising strategies, monitoring campaign revenue, and ensuring the successful execution of development campaigns. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying training needs and developing strategies to achieve fundraising goals, while also fostering collaboration across departments and with corporate partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison and subject matter expert in fundraising strategies and best practices.
  • Support the tracking, reporting, and monitoring of campaign revenue.
  • Consult on developing strategies and identify training needs for achieving campaign goals.
  • Advise on planning and execution of development campaigns and market-wide goals.
  • Conduct strategy meetings with assigned markets to develop strategic plans.
  • Provide regular follow-up to markets based on timelines and needs.
  • Lead and facilitate strategy meetings to keep staff focused on actions and plans.
  • Interact with assigned markets as a resource for support and guidance.
  • Participate in sourcing staff and volunteers reflective of community demographics. 1
  • Influence the utilization of volunteer committees in event planning and implementation. 1
  • Identify trends and develop strategies to achieve fundraising goals. 1
  • Collaborate with National Leads to advocate for regional staff and integrate national strategies. 1
  • Monitor campaign revenue and analyze reports to identify flags at various levels. 1
  • Train new staff on campaign best practices and provide ongoing support. 1
  • Manage customer and campaign information accurately and securely.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within the SouthWest region and to the National Center approximately 30% of the time, with access to reliable transportation.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree is required, or equivalent experience in a related field. This educational background should ideally include coursework or training relevant to fundraising, nonprofit management, or business administration.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a strong preference for those who have worked in nonprofit organizations. Experience should include a proven track record of driving successful fundraising campaigns and managing donor relationships effectively.
