Job Overview:
The Region Senior Development Consultant will play a crucial role in the SouthWest region, providing consulting services to development staff leading major fundraising campaigns such as Heart Challenge, Heart Ball, and Go Red for Women. This position is primarily home-office based, with a preference for candidates located in the SouthWest region, including states like Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. The consultant will be responsible for training and advising on fundraising strategies, monitoring campaign revenue, and ensuring the successful execution of development campaigns. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying training needs and developing strategies to meet fundraising goals, while also fostering collaboration across departments and with community health organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Region Senior Development Consultant include serving as a liaison and subject matter expert in fundraising strategies, conducting strategy meetings with assigned markets, providing coaching and strategic guidance, and ensuring adherence to best practices and timelines. The consultant will also support the tracking and reporting of campaign revenue, develop and train staff, and facilitate collaboration across departments. Regular follow-ups with market leaders, monitoring financial activities, and ensuring the integrity of donor information are also key responsibilities. The consultant will be expected to influence volunteer engagement, identify trends in fundraising, and develop strategies to enhance donor contributions and sponsorship potential.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and the ability to travel within the SouthWest region and to the National Center approximately 30% of the time is essential. Preferred skills include the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority, a proven track record in successful fundraising campaigns, and knowledge of corporate and community networks.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates who have relevant experience in fundraising or related fields. Equivalent experience may also be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, ideally within a nonprofit context. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to drive successful fundraising campaigns and manage relationships with donors and volunteers effectively.
