Job Overview:
The Program Consultant, Health Care position at the American Heart Association involves supporting the National Center office located in Dallas, TX, with the flexibility of being home-based. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients at hospitals, healthcare systems, post-acute facilities, and EMS organizations to implement and deliver program services.
  • Conducting active data collection and providing decision support tools to enhance quality improvement initiatives.
  • Consulting with hospital teams to identify compliance issues and facilitate program participation.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with physician champions and key stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Collaborating with state health departments and regional authorities to enhance cardiovascular care systems.
  • Documenting activities in customer relationship management tools like Microsoft Dynamics and reporting on account interactions.
  • Communicating regularly with the Director of Health Care Quality to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of the programs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, along with two to five years of proven experience in relevant fields. Experience in acute care hospitals, particularly in clinical quality or process improvement projects, is essential. Familiarity with cardiovascular disease and stroke care, as well as understanding EMS and payer systems, is highly desirable. Proficiency in advanced PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required, along with strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities. The ability to travel up to 20% for local and overnight stays is also necessary.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position, and equivalent work experience may be considered. Candidates with a clinical degree or certifications such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or Certified Health Education Specialist are preferred.

Experience:
