Job Overview: The Finance and Operations Director, Business Technology is a pivotal role within the American Heart Association, responsible for overseeing the effective management of business operations within the Office of Business Technology. This includes managing departmental budgeting, technical policy management, and operational support functions in collaboration with Finance and Procurement departments. The director will consult and advise BT staff, ensuring that the operations team meets the needs of Business Technology. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Finance and Operations Director include managing the Business Technology budgets in coordination with the Business Technology Leadership Team, preparing annual budget instructions, and providing budget management support to BT leadership. The director will perform financial modeling and analysis for technology budgets, coordinate monthly budget reviews, and analyze financial activities to ensure effective use of the budget. Furthermore, the director will maintain awareness of contract renewals, assist BT budget owners with budget-related issues, lead the Technology Operations Support team, and develop continuous process improvement strategies. Regular updates to the BT Policy Library and maintaining the BT Service Catalog are also key responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree, with a Master's degree preferred, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, with 7 years preferred. Candidates should have experience in accounting principles, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and general business administration. Familiarity with planning, budgeting, projecting, month-end close, and variance analysis is essential. Experience with vendor negotiations, continuous process improvement, and advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, is also required.
