Job Overview:
The consultant will work under the supervision of the 1 Million Opportunities staff to manage the production of pedagogical content for the initiative. This role involves providing technical support for the curation and production of educational materials aimed at improving educational outcomes for vulnerable youth. The consultant will be responsible for producing reports on project progress, coordinating with the Education team, and ensuring the alignment of educational content with state and national curricula. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Secretary of Education of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, and Maranhão States, to implement and evaluate educational strategies effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce reports detailing the progress, barriers, and opportunities in the implementation of the project with the Secretary of Education.
  • Collaborate with the Education team to coordinate the production of courses and pedagogical materials for the 1 Million Opportunities initiative.
  • Adapt existing educational materials to fit the 1MiO training platform.
  • Review and supervise the content production of courses, ensuring quality and relevance.
  • Provide technical guidance for the development of pedagogical guides and training materials.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings and provide support in aligning goals with educational authorities.
  • Conduct training sessions for educators and managers on various educational themes, including Life Skills and STEAM.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first university degree or bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Political Science, Communication, Public Policy, International Relations, or related fields. They should have strong teamwork and communication skills, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in education, project management, and content production. Knowledge of youth-related topics and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential. Experience in UN agencies or organizations is an asset, and candidates should demonstrate a commitment to children's rights and educational equity.

Educational Background:
A degree in Education, Social Sciences, Political Science, Communication, Public Policy, International Relations, or related fields is required. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of educational policies and practices, particularly in the context of vulnerable populations in Brazil.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of professional experience at national or international levels in relevant fields such as education, environmental education, STEAM, and public policy advocacy. Candidates should have a proven track record in project management, training educators, and producing educational content. Experience working with governmental bodies and understanding the educational landscape in Brazil is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local stakeholders. Knowledge of English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and resources.
