Job Overview: The Trainer (PM Certification (PRINCE2/MSP) (Retainer) position is part of UNOPS’ commitment to enhancing project management capacity. The selected trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions for PRINCE2 and MSP certification, tailored to the needs of UNOPS personnel and external partners. This role requires the trainer to develop and adapt training materials, conduct engaging training sessions, and provide support to participants to ensure a minimum pass rate of 80% for certification exams. The position is flexible, allowing for remote work, but may also require occasional travel to HQ or other locations, depending on the assignment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation and Planning: Develop tailored content and educational training materials in coordination with IPMG, and review updates to PRINCE2 and MSP editions.
Training Delivery: Conduct engaging face-to-face or online training sessions, ensuring participants are well-prepared for certification exams.
Feedback and Reporting: Provide feedback to IPMG, complete post-training reports, and document key elements and improvement areas for each session.
Collaborate with IPMG to improve training materials and incorporate participant feedback.
Maintain a minimum pass rate of 80% for certification exams and offer additional support to participants as needed.
Required Qualifications: An advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in Project Management, Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Education, or Social Sciences is required. A first-level university degree or bachelor's degree with seven years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree. A minimum of five years in a teaching or training role is required, along with three years of practical experience in project/programme management. Additionally, at least ten days of experience delivering classroom-based training in PRINCE2 or MSP is required.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Project Management, Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Education, or Social Sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree or bachelor's degree with seven years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in roles that include teaching or delivering training responsibilities. Additionally, three years of practical experience in project management or programme management is required, which can be included in the overall experience. A minimum of ten days of experience delivering classroom-based training in PRINCE2 or MSP is also necessary.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is highly desirable, as it can enhance communication and training delivery to a broader audience.
Additional Notes: This position is a retainer contract, which means it is not a full-time role. The contract duration is for one year, renewable based on satisfactory performance and business needs. Retainer contracts may require completion of mandatory courses before providing services, and these courses are not compensated.
