Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst on Sexual and Reproductive Health plays a crucial role in managing UNFPA's activities related to sexual and reproductive health. This position involves analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends to provide substantive inputs for project formulation and evaluation. The analyst is responsible for guiding and facilitating the delivery of UNFPA's programs, ensuring that results are monitored effectively during implementation. The role requires collaboration with government counterparts, NGOs, and other partners to design and implement country programs that align with national priorities and UNFPA policies. The analyst must keep abreast of new policy developments and prepare briefs for policy dialogue and technical assistance coordination, ensuring that the organization's interventions are timely and effective.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with government counterparts, NGOs, and other partners to formulate and design the country program and its component projects in line with government priorities.
  • Ensure the quality of program/project design by incorporating lessons learned and best practices, establishing appropriate execution and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Analyze and interpret the political, social, and economic environment relevant to sexual and reproductive health and rights, identifying opportunities for UNFPA assistance.
  • Keep updated on new policy developments and prepare briefs for policy dialogue and technical assistance coordination.
  • Expedite and coordinate project implementation, establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies and other UN agencies.
  • Create and document knowledge about current and emerging sexual and reproductive health issues, sharing lessons learned and best practices with management.
  • Assist in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts by preparing relevant documentation and participating in donor meetings and public information events.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced university degree at the Master's level in public health, medicine, social sciences, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sexual and reproductive health-related activities, with a focus on program/project management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to UNFPA and the UN system, with a strong understanding of cultural diversity and change management.
  • Proven ability to achieve results, be accountable, and develop professional expertise.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams and manage relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills for impactful engagement with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
