Job Overview:
The Human Resources Associate position at UNICEF involves providing administrative, procedural, and operational support to ensure the efficient implementation of a wide range of Human Resources functions. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations while delivering accurate and timely services to all staff categories. The associate will work closely under the supervision of the Human Resources Specialist, contributing to various HR functions such as business partnering, processing entitlements and benefits, recruitment and placement, organization design, job classification, and learning and capacity development. The position requires a proactive approach to support general office functions and ensure that HR processes are streamlined and effective.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Associate will be responsible for the following key functions:
  • Support business partnering by collaborating with various departments to understand their HR needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Assist in processing entitlements and benefits for local staff, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Facilitate recruitment and placement processes, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Aid in organization design and job classification efforts to ensure roles are clearly defined and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Contribute to learning and capacity development initiatives by identifying training needs and supporting the implementation of training programs.
  • Provide general office support, including maintaining HR records, preparing reports, and assisting with HR-related inquiries.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in HR processes and a good understanding of HR policies and regulations are essential. Candidates should also exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
The position requires completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to Human Resources or organizational work. A background in HR management or a related field is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years of relevant experience in administrative or clerical roles, with a focus on Human Resources functions. Experience in a multicultural environment and familiarity with UN HR policies and procedures will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of effectively supporting HR operations and contributing to organizational goals.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language or the local language of the duty station is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration within the diverse workforce at UNICEF.
