Job Overview: The role of the Coordinateur-rice Terrain is akin to that of a director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director, delegated to oversee the geographical area of intervention, which is Mayotte. The individual in this position is responsible for proposing a regional strategy based on the context, the needs of vulnerable populations, and the associative and institutional landscape. Once the strategy is validated, the Coordinator ensures its implementation. This role involves controlling and guaranteeing that projects are executed in accordance with the charter of Solidarités International and internal and contractual procedures. The Coordinator mobilizes the necessary material and financial resources for the effective execution of programs and supervises their management. Additionally, the Coordinator coordinates the teams in place and is responsible for their safety in the area of assignment. They serve as the direct and privileged interlocutor for the Country Director and institutions in their area of intervention. The initial priorities for the first 2-3 months include transitioning from emergency phase activities to more stable operations, returning to normal processes and tools of Solidarités International, and remobilizing the team to ensure a manageable workload.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and propose a regional strategy based on the needs of vulnerable populations and the local associative landscape.
Ensure the implementation of the strategy once validated.
Control and guarantee that projects are executed in accordance with the organization's charter and internal procedures.
Mobilize necessary resources for program execution and supervise their management.
Coordinate teams and ensure their safety in the area of intervention.
Serve as the main point of contact for the Country Director and local institutions.
Remobilize the team and structure workloads appropriately.
Required Qualifications:
Higher university degree.
At least 3-4 years of experience in the associative sector in France (or humanitarian sector), with some experience in positions of responsibility.
Experience in the humanitarian sector: 3-4 years.
Experience in a similar position: 0-2 years.
Educational Background: A higher university degree is required for this position, which indicates a level of education that is typically associated with advanced studies in relevant fields such as social sciences, international relations, or humanitarian aid.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least some of that time spent in roles with responsibilities. Experience in a similar position is preferred but not mandatory, with a range of 0-2 years being acceptable.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory. Knowledge of any local languages such as Swahili, Shimahoré, or Malagasy is considered a plus and would enhance communication with local communities.
Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract, with a duration of either 12 or 18 months. The salary starts at €3,183, with an additional 35% cost of living allowance, totaling €4,297 gross.
