Job Overview:
The Finance Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in implementing and monitoring the financial management activities of NRC in the country office. This position is designed to assist in the day-to-day financial responsibilities as defined by the organization. The assistant will be responsible for ensuring that financial documents are properly archived, organized, and updated, both in hard and soft formats. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Technical Assistant will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Archiving, organizing, and updating financial documents in both hard and soft formats.
- Scanning and filing all financial documents electronically.
- Ensuring that all documents are properly placed, filed, and labeled for easy retrieval.
- Managing the electronic filing system to maintain an organized archive.
- Providing vouchers to auditors and ensuring they are returned to the appropriate file folder.
- Assisting accountants with the filing of monthly financial vouchers.
- Maintaining records to ensure the long-term preservation and easy retrieval of documents and information.
- Scanning documents and vouchers upon request from finance staff.
- Advising users on how to best access, use, and retrieve archived documents. 1
- Collecting financial documents from field offices regularly and on time. 1
- Liaising with the compliance department regarding any matters related to archiving. 1
- Assisting finance staff in the acquisition and retrieval of documents. 1
- Performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
The position requires several generic professional competencies, including:
- Proficiency in written and spoken Ukrainian and English.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Creativity and a willingness to try new approaches.
- A positive and collaborative attitude with a willingness to work in a team.
- An openness to working in a multi-cultural environment. Additionally, context-related skills, knowledge, and experience are essential, such as:
- At least 2 years of work experience in an NGO setting.
- Previous experience working in difficult and unstable conditions.
- Proficiency in using office equipment and skills related to working with archives.
Educational Background:
