Job Overview: The Nursing Services position involves providing comprehensive maternal health care services, including pre-conception care, antenatal, post-natal, family planning, and mental health services. The incumbent will work within the Family Health Team approach, ensuring that health services are delivered according to technical instructions. The role requires participation in training activities, maintaining high standards of infection control, and managing medical supplies. The incumbent will also follow up on patients, assist with home visits, and take on the responsibilities of the Senior Staff Nurse when necessary. This position is crucial for ensuring the health and well-being of the community served by the health center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for comprehensive maternal health care services, including pre-conception care, antenatal, post-natal, family planning, and mental health services.
Perform periodic IUD insertions and follow-up checkups according to local regulations.
Participate in activities addressing cross-cutting issues such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and disability.
Maintain high standards of infection control and manage medical waste effectively.
Facilitate training activities and ensure proper recording of health information.
Manage medical supplies and ensure their availability.
Follow up with patients who default on appointments and assist with home visits.
Assume the duties of the Senior Staff Nurse when required.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of secondary school.
A university degree or at least three years of nursing studies from an accredited institution.
A valid nursing license in the duty station (if applicable).
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a university degree or equivalent nursing studies from an accredited institution. A valid nursing license to practice in the duty station is also required.
Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible experience in nursing services is required. Candidates should also have the ability to use computers and understand their application in health services.
Languages: A good command of written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory for this position.
Additional Notes: The contract type is a Fixed Term Appointment for three years, including a one-year probation period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The position offers a monthly basic salary of USD 1,372.10, payable in Jordanian Dinar at the UN monthly exchange rate. Benefits include a Provident Fund contribution, dependency allowances, 30 days of annual leave, and compulsory medical insurance. The vacancy is open to internal candidates residing in the West Bank or Jerusalem, and preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates who assist the Agency in achieving gender parity.
