Job Overview:
The ICLA Community Mobilizer will play a crucial role in engaging with local communities to promote awareness and understanding of the organization's initiatives. This position involves working closely with community members to identify their needs and challenges, facilitating discussions, and mobilizing resources to address these issues. The mobilizer will be responsible for implementing community-based programs, ensuring that the voices of the community are heard and considered in decision-making processes. The role requires a proactive approach to building relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries, as well as a commitment to fostering inclusive participation in all activities. The mobilizer will also be expected to monitor and evaluate the impact of community initiatives, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with community members to identify their needs and challenges related to humanitarian assistance and support.
- Facilitate community meetings and discussions to promote awareness of the organization's programs and initiatives.
- Mobilize community resources and support for the implementation of projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community programs, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to community engagement activities.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure a coordinated approach to community mobilization.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of community members in relevant forums and discussions.
- Provide training and capacity-building support to community members to enhance their participation in initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
- Experience in community mobilization, outreach, or related fields.
- Knowledge of humanitarian principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for communication and reporting.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or training in community mobilization or humanitarian assistance will be considered an asset.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, mobilization, or related roles is required. Experience working in humanitarian contexts or with vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English or other local languages is considered an asset.
Additional Notes:
This position may require occasional travel within the region. The role is full-time, and the organization is committed to recruiting nationally. Compensation and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
