Job Overview:
The Employer Outreach Specialist plays a crucial role in job development with local employers, focusing on creating opportunities for clients, particularly refugees. This position is responsible for identifying and developing relationships with employers to meet hiring and work experience needs. The specialist will educate the local business community about the unique hiring needs of refugees and provide essential services such as employment preparation, job readiness training, placement support, and follow-up services. Working collaboratively within a team, the specialist will maintain and nurture existing employer relationships while also seeking new opportunities for client placement. The role requires a proactive approach to engage with employers and ensure that clients are well-prepared for the job market, enhancing their employability through various training and support services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Employer Outreach Specialist include, but are not limited to: developing and cultivating long-term relationships with local employers to identify suitable work experience opportunities for clients; determining specific employment opportunities that align with clients' skills and assisting them in navigating the hiring process; conducting group and one-on-one job readiness courses that cover essential skills such as cultural orientation, mock interviews, resume creation, and job skills development; maintaining accurate digital and physical records of attendance, assessments, and service provision; monitoring client job performance and satisfaction levels; providing assistance to clients and employers with post-placement issues; ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements, including database management and case noting; supervising and assisting program interns and volunteers; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Employer Outreach Specialist position include an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the human services field, with a preference for those who have demonstrated experience with the U.S. job search process. The ability to effectively coach clients through the employment securing process is essential. Familiarity with the local job market is strongly preferred, along with a proven track record of achieving goals and working effectively in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment. The candidate should be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of multitasking, prioritizing duties, and managing time effectively.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the Employer Outreach Specialist position should possess an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience in a relevant area may be considered.
