Job Overview:
The position of Protection Assistant (Community Hosting) is under the supervision of the CBP Officer and the Senior Project Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting all steps of the case management process for assigned cases, which includes identifying suitable placement options for vulnerable migrants, organizing meetings with community leaders, and monitoring host families. The role requires close collaboration with embassy representatives, local NGOs, and other IOM units to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals. The candidate will also assist with informal translations and provide information on available services to migrants, particularly those who are victims of trafficking or survivors of gender-based violence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with embassy representatives and local NGOs to identify suitable placement options for vulnerable migrants.
- Organize meetings with community leaders to promote alternatives to detention options.
- Identify vulnerable individuals eligible for alternatives to detention in coordination with protection case workers.
- Monitor host families weekly and flag urgent needs to assigned CM staff members.
- Manage and record host families’ updates and housing solutions.
- Support community focal points and host families in community-based protection programs.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits and manage contracts and payments for host families.
- Provide information on available services to vulnerable migrants.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in protection and assistance to vulnerable populations.
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities and plans.
- Strong problem-solving attitude and skills.
- Good written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Educational Background:
