Job Overview:
The Product Manager, Health IT, Outpatient position at the American Heart Association is a critical role that involves overseeing the Outpace CVD™ Registry platform. This position is responsible for quality-checking, maintaining, and enhancing the platform while supporting health system customers in the integration of Electronic Health Records (EHR). The Product Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Clinical Research department and external health systems, to drive quality improvement initiatives focused on cardiovascular health. The role requires a strong analytical mindset to compile data, identify trends, and present findings effectively. The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility and remote collaboration with team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Product Manager include:
  • Leading activities related to the Outpace CVD™ Registry platform, ensuring quality and functionality.
  • Collaborating with health systems to facilitate EHR data integration via FHIR APIs.
  • Conducting regular testing of clinical quality metrics and working with clinical volunteers to implement feedback.
  • Analyzing registry data and creating reports for internal evaluation and external presentations.
  • Supporting the Sr. Product Development Manager in developing technological specifications for the registry and other software products.
  • Coordinating with software vendors to track product enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Developing and delivering webinars for staff and customers related to assigned projects.
  • Managing project budgets and vendor service level agreements.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in software development, public health, healthcare, or outpatient quality improvement.
  • Proficiency in handling clinical data and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly in remote settings.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret clinical information and evaluate data.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
  • Knowledge of voluntary health organizations and experience in conflict resolution and collaboration.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Advanced degrees or certifications related to health IT, public health, or healthcare management may be preferred but are not mandatory.
