Job Overview:
The position involves working within the ‘Projects and Programmes’ team at FHDO, focusing on integrating risk management into the foundation's projects. The role requires providing technical support on climate justice and strategic planning, as well as implementing training programs for the ACT Forum Argentina on humanitarian issues. The successful candidate will engage with partner organizations and local communities to build their capacities in risk management, develop educational materials, and support emergency relief efforts. The position also entails advising on the regular review of emergency preparedness plans, ensuring that disaster risk reduction strategies are embedded in all environmental and development projects undertaken by FHDO. This role is crucial in fostering collaboration between civil society and state actors to create a sustainable disaster prevention system in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Advise on the integration of risk management in the design and implementation of FHDO's projects.
  • Provide technical support on climate justice, loss and damage, and strategic planning.
  • Support the implementation of an internal training plan for the ACT Forum Argentina on humanitarian issues.
  • Assist partner organizations, communities, and local actors in building skills related to risk management.
  • Develop didactic and informational materials to facilitate understanding and implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Support emergency relief and prevention measures at the community level, ensuring effective response to disasters.
  • Advise on the regular review and updating of the emergency preparedness and response plan for the ACT Forum Argentina.

Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in disaster prevention, disaster management, or a comparable specialization is required.
  • Several years of professional experience in disaster prevention and relief is essential.
  • Applied knowledge in youth and adult education is necessary for effective training and capacity building.
  • Practical experience in strategic planning and evaluation, as well as familiarity with adapted technologies, is desirable.
  • Business fluency in Spanish is mandatory to communicate effectively with local stakeholders.
