The Communications & Marketing Director will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: traveling as required within the assigned territory markets (approximately 30% travel); developing and implementing local strategic communications plans that align with national priorities; writing and distributing press releases and media materials; managing local social media content; securing media sponsorships for events; implementing awareness campaigns around heart and stroke topics; ensuring adherence to national branding guidelines; coordinating communications plans for sponsor-funded activations; identifying and training local spokespersons; providing marketing support for fundraising events; tracking media coverage and managing a spokesperson database; collaborating with video production and photography teams to create engaging content; developing media events and managing local crises or sensitive issues; and working with the executive director on local advertising projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Communications & Marketing Director position must possess a Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or have some college education combined with relevant experience. A minimum of two years of work experience in communications, social media, public relations, or journalism is required, along with experience in applying communication principles in a non-profit context.
