As a Senior IT Project Manager at the American Heart Association, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-priority technical projects that align with the organization's mission of eliminating cardiovascular diseases and strokes. You will be responsible for implementing both waterfall and agile project methodologies, ensuring that project outcomes align with enterprise business strategies and compliance standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior IT Project Manager will initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close assigned executive-sponsored or multi-level complex projects. Responsibilities include establishing work priorities, advising personnel involved in project tasks, and providing timely responses to roadblocks and risks. You will develop initial project scopes, plans, and resource forecasts, while also identifying and resolving issues. Your role will involve leveraging best practices in project management, providing analysis and consultation on project requirements, and ensuring seamless communication with executive leadership. You will troubleshoot project problems, develop adherence plans for timelines and budgets, and champion project governance best practices. Additionally, you will manage capital assets and project expenses within the budget, performing analysis for return on investment reporting for projects exceeding $500K.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. A minimum of eight years of experience with line of business software concepts and systems is required, along with five years of project management experience in a business or technology environment. Proficiency in project management software and related applications is essential, as is the ability to work independently. Candidates should have solid experience managing custom code software development and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms. A focus on continuous improvement in project delivery and extensive knowledge of IT governance best practices are also required. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to understand and communicate with diverse audiences are critical.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
