Job Overview:
The Program Consultant Healthcare Quality – Post Acute Stroke is a pivotal role within the American Heart Association, primarily focused on enhancing the quality of care for patients with cardiovascular diseases, particularly in South Dakota. This position is responsible for implementing quality improvement programs that align with the AHA's guidelines and objectives. The consultant will work closely with various healthcare providers to educate and motivate them towards improving treatment protocols and clinical practices. The role requires effective communication of project statuses and ensuring that all deliverables are met within the specified budget and timeline. The consultant will also collaborate with different departments within the national office to facilitate the success of these initiatives. This position is home-based, providing flexibility while still requiring engagement with healthcare facilities and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Consultant will drive the implementation of quality improvement projects aimed at helping healthcare providers adhere to AHA guidelines for treating cardiovascular disease. Key responsibilities include providing consultation and support through learning cohorts, building relationships with stakeholders, facilitating meetings and conferences, and developing program implementation strategies. The consultant will serve as the primary contact for hospitals and clinics, ensuring they have the necessary resources to sustain knowledge and improve patient outcomes. Additionally, the consultant will develop clinical decision support tools, recruit program participants, and work with clinical care teams to address barriers to guideline adoption. Regular communication with the Senior Manager is essential to ensure tasks are completed according to grant timelines, and the consultant will manage project documentation, including budgets and status reports for both internal and external audiences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or public health-related organization. Experience in a post-acute clinical setting, particularly related to stroke care, is preferred. Proficiency in project management is essential, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and communication with team members and stakeholders. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are required, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Comprehensive skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, are necessary. The role may require travel up to 15%, including overnight stays in South Dakota.

Educational Background:
