Job Overview:
The Senior Product Manager, Fundraising will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the American Heart Association's fundraising products, particularly focusing on the American School Engagement program, which includes initiatives like Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. This position requires a strategic leader who will define the product vision and strategy for digital platform capabilities associated with these programs. The role involves developing and maintaining a product roadmap that spans 12 to 36 months, collaborating with various teams to innovate and launch digital experiences that align with the organization's goals and market needs. The Senior Product Manager will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring successful launches and user adoption while driving ongoing enhancements and leading a shift towards a product lifecycle management approach.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership for Product Strategy and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with fundraising program objectives. Set goals and motivate teams across business, technology, and vendor sectors. Conduct market research and customer feedback analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Drive innovation by exploring new product ideas and enhancements.
  • Product Planning and Roadmapping: Work with cross-functional teams to create and prioritize product roadmaps, ensuring designs incorporate customer feedback. Define and manage product requirements and user stories, making data-driven decisions to prioritize features based on market trends and user needs.
  • Product Development and Launch: Coordinate with teams to monitor the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance. Manage change processes and training for successful product launches.
  • Performance Tracking and Analytics: Define KPIs to measure product success, analyze data post-launch, and evaluate the impact of new features on business outcomes.
  • Customer Focus and Relationship Building: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through direct interactions and feedback analysis. Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to validate product direction.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster transparent communication across departments, ensuring a shared understanding of product strategies and goals. Present product plans and updates to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management is required, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential, along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. A data-driven mindset and familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Product Board, and Figma are also necessary. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of current digital engagement trends and the ability to integrate these into the product vision.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is mandatory, while a Master's degree or MBA is preferred. Candidates with industry knowledge and experience in nonprofits will have an advantage. Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools, particularly Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, is also beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of progressive experience in product management, demonstrating a successful history of launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle. Candidates should have experience in strategic thinking and decision-making, as well as a strong understanding of market trends and customer needs.

Languages:
While no specific languages are mandated, proficiency in English is essential for effective communication. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in diverse communities.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with flexible work arrangements available. The expected pay range is between $110,000 and $120,000, commensurate with experience. The American Heart Association offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a robust retirement program. Employees are entitled to a minimum of 16 days of paid time off per year, increasing with seniority, and 12 paid holidays.
