Job Overview:
As the Sr. Product Manager, Fundraising, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the American Heart Association's fundraising products, particularly focusing on the American School Engagement program, which includes initiatives like Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. This position requires a strategic leader who will define the product vision and strategy for digital platform capabilities associated with these programs. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive product roadmap that spans 12 to 36 months, collaborating with various teams including delivery teams, stakeholders, and leadership. Your role will involve guiding key strategic decisions, prioritizing investments, and ensuring that the products align with market needs and organizational goals. You will also be expected to innovate and launch digital experiences that enhance user engagement and drive fundraising efforts, while leading a shift towards a product lifecycle management approach within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership for Product Strategy and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product vision and strategy that aligns with the fundraising program objectives. Set goals, define success metrics, and motivate teams across business, technology, and vendor sectors. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and user needs. Drive innovation by exploring new product ideas and enhancements.
  • Product Planning and Roadmapping: Work with cross-functional teams to create and prioritize product roadmaps. Ensure that designs incorporate customer feedback and testing. Define product requirements and manage user stories and feature backlogs. Make data-driven decisions to prioritize features based on customer feedback and market trends.
  • Product Development and Launch: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance. Coordinate with internal technology and vendors for successful product launches. Manage change processes and training for successful implementation.
  • Performance Tracking and Analytics: Define KPIs to measure product success and monitor performance post-launch. Analyze data and user feedback to iterate on product features. Evaluate the impact of new features on business outcomes.
  • Customer Focus and Relationship Building: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through direct interactions and feedback analysis. Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to validate product direction.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster transparent communication across departments to ensure alignment on product strategies and goals. Present product plans and updates to executive leadership. Develop visual communications to enhance clarity and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in analytics to inform product decisions.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Product Board, and Figma.
  • A thorough understanding of current digital engagement trends and the ability to integrate these into the product vision.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering is required. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred and may enhance your candidacy, particularly if you have experience in the nonprofit sector or with CRM and marketing automation tools.

Experience:
Candidates should possess at least 5 years of progressive experience in product management, demonstrating a successful history of launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle. Experience in event-driven businesses, such as conferences and festivals, is also advantageous.

Languages:

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with flexible work arrangements available. The expected pay range for this role is between $110,000 and $120,000, commensurate with experience.
