Job Overview:
The Senior Product Manager, Fundraising will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the American Heart Association's fundraising products, particularly focusing on the American School Engagement program, which includes initiatives like Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. This position requires a strategic leader who will define the product vision and strategy for the associated digital platform capabilities. The role involves developing, prioritizing, and maintaining a product roadmap that spans 12 to 36 months, collaborating with delivery teams, stakeholders, and leadership to guide strategic decisions and investment prioritization. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate, develop, and launch digital experiences that align with the organization's goals and market needs. This position encompasses the entire product development lifecycle, from identifying customer needs to ensuring successful launches and user adoption, while also driving ongoing enhancements and leading a shift towards a product lifecycle management approach.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership for Product Strategy and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that aligns with the fundraising program objectives. Set goals, define success metrics, and motivate teams across business, technology, and vendor domains. Conduct market research and customer feedback analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Drive innovation by exploring new product ideas and enhancements.
  • Product Planning and Roadmapping: Work with cross-functional teams to create and prioritize product roadmaps, ensuring designs incorporate customer feedback and testing. Define and manage product requirements, user stories, and feature backlogs. Make data-driven decisions to prioritize features based on customer feedback and market trends.
  • Product Development and Launch: Coordinate with fundraising and technology teams to oversee the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance. Work closely with internal technology and vendors for successful product development and launches.
  • Performance Tracking and Analytics: Define KPIs to measure product success and monitor performance post-launch. Analyze data and user feedback to iterate on product features and optimize user experience.
  • Customer Focus and Relationship Building: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through direct interactions and feedback analysis. Cultivate strong relationships with key volunteers and stakeholders to validate product direction.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster transparent communication across departments and collaborate with executive leadership to present product plans and updates.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics to drive product decisions.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Product Board, and Figma.
  • A thorough understanding of current digital engagement trends and the ability to strategically integrate these into the product vision.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering is required. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred and may provide an advantage in the selection process.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressive experience in product management, demonstrating a successful track record of launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle. Experience in the nonprofit sector is advantageous but not mandatory.

Languages:

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with flexible work arrangements available. The expected pay range for this role is between $110,000 and $120,000, commensurate with experience. The American Heart Association offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a robust retirement program with employer matching. Employees are also entitled to a minimum of 16 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year, increasing with seniority, and 12 paid holidays annually.
