Job Overview:
The Senior Product Manager, Fundraising will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the American Heart Association's fundraising products, particularly focusing on the American School Engagement program, which includes initiatives like Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. This position requires a strategic leader who will define the product vision and strategy for digital platform capabilities associated with these programs. The role involves developing, prioritizing, and maintaining a product roadmap that spans 12 to 36 months, collaborating with delivery teams, stakeholders, and leadership to guide strategic decisions and investment prioritization. The Senior Product Manager will work with cross-functional teams to innovate, develop, and launch digital experiences that align with the organization's goals and market needs. This position demands expertise across the entire product development lifecycle, from identifying customer needs to ensuring successful product launches and user adoption, while also driving ongoing enhancements and leading a shift towards a product lifecycle management approach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership for Product Strategy and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that aligns with the fundraising program objectives. Set goals, define success metrics, and motivate teams across business, technology, and vendor domains. Conduct market research and customer feedback analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Drive innovation by exploring new product ideas and enhancements that meet market demands.
- Product Planning and Roadmapping: Work with cross-functional teams to create and prioritize product roadmaps. Ensure designs incorporate the Voice of Customer (VoX) and include customer testing. Define and manage product requirements, user stories, and feature backlogs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Product Development and Launch: Coordinate with Fundraising and Technology teams to oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to launch. Ensure successful product development and quality assurance through collaboration with internal technology and vendors. Manage successful launches, including change management and training.
- Performance Tracking and Analytics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and monitor performance post-launch. Analyze data and user feedback to iterate on product features and optimize user experience.
- Customer Focus and Relationship Building: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through direct interactions and market insights. Cultivate relationships with key volunteers and stakeholders to validate product direction.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster transparent communication across departments to ensure a shared understanding of product strategies and goals. Collaborate with executive leadership to present product plans and status updates.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics to drive product decisions.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Product Board, and Figma.
- A thorough understanding of current digital engagement trends and the ability to strategically integrate these into the product vision.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred but not mandatory. Educational qualifications should align with the responsibilities of product management and strategic leadership.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of progressive experience in product management. This experience should include a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle, demonstrating the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive product strategy effectively.
