Job Overview:
The Sr. Product Manager, Fundraising position at the American Heart Association is a pivotal role that involves shaping the future of fundraising products and delivering exceptional value to customers. This position focuses on the American School Engagement program, particularly the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. The individual will be responsible for defining the product vision and strategy for digital platform capabilities, developing a product roadmap, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate and launch digital experiences. The role requires a strategic leader who can guide key decisions and prioritize investments while ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and market needs. The Sr. Product Manager will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from identifying customer needs to ensuring successful launches and user adoption, ultimately driving enhancements and leading a shift towards a product lifecycle management approach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership for Product Strategy and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with fundraising objectives. Set goals, define success metrics, and motivate teams. Conduct market research and customer feedback analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Drive innovation by exploring new product ideas and enhancements.
- Product Planning and Roadmapping: Work with cross-functional teams to create and prioritize product roadmaps. Ensure designs incorporate customer feedback and testing. Define product requirements and manage feature backlogs. Make data-driven decisions to prioritize features based on market trends and business value.
- Product Development and Launch: Coordinate with teams to monitor the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery. Collaborate with technology and vendors for quality assurance and successful launches. Manage funding processes and budget across the product lifecycle.
- Performance Tracking and Analytics: Define KPIs to measure product success and monitor performance post-launch. Analyze data and user feedback to iterate on product features. Evaluate the impact of new feature launches on business outcomes.
- Customer Focus and Relationship Building: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through direct interactions and market insights. Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to validate product direction.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster transparent communication across departments and present product plans to executive leadership. Develop visual communications to enhance collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics to drive product decisions.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Product Board, and Figma.
- A thorough understanding of current digital engagement trends and the ability to integrate these into the product vision.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering is required. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of progressive experience in product management, demonstrating a successful history of launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle. Experience in the nonprofit sector is advantageous but not essential.
Languages:
While no specific languages are mandated, proficiency in English is essential for effective communication. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with flexible work arrangements available. The expected pay range is between $110,000 and $120,000, commensurate with experience.
