The organization is committed to helping individuals and families regain control of their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. The IRC employs thousands of staff members worldwide, working collaboratively with local communities and partners to deliver essential services and support.

Job Overview:
The Crisis Case Manager (Level 3) is a vital role within the IRC’s Home Study and Post-Release Services (HSPRS) program, which is expanding significantly across the United States. This position is designed to provide comprehensive support to unaccompanied children and their sponsors, ensuring their safety and stability during a critical transition period. The Crisis Case Manager will conduct thorough assessments of potential sponsors, develop individualized service plans, and provide ongoing case management support through both in-person and remote interactions. The role requires a deep understanding of trauma-informed care and the ability to navigate complex family dynamics and community resources. The position is limited term, anticipated to last through September 2026, and involves significant travel to meet the needs of clients across various locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Crisis Case Manager include conducting initial in-home assessments with children and sponsors, followed by regular in-person contacts for the first 45-60 days. The manager will develop individualized service plans, conduct comprehensive assessments, and provide crisis intervention support when necessary. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, submitting timely documentation, and building relationships with community service providers. The manager will ensure confidentiality and utilize a child-centered, trauma-informed approach to address the needs of children and sponsors. Additionally, the role involves providing referrals to various services, including legal, educational, medical, and counseling resources, and ensuring ongoing assessment of the child's safety and well-being.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a relevant behavioral science field that requires direct clinical experience. Fluency in both Spanish and English, both written and verbal, is mandatory. A minimum of two years of experience in case management, including conducting intakes and assessments, is required, along with at least one year of professional experience working with children in contexts such as family reunification, child welfare, or related fields. Proven ability to manage complex client situations with a focus on safety and child protection principles is essential. Experience working with immigrant populations and unaccompanied minors is strongly preferred, along with knowledge of local community social services.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field that includes direct clinical experience as a program requirement. This advanced education is crucial for understanding the complexities of child welfare and the psychological needs of unaccompanied minors.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in case management, particularly in conducting assessments and developing service plans. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience working directly with children and families in contexts such as family reunification, kinship care, or child protection. Experience with immigrant populations and unaccompanied minors is highly desirable, as is a demonstrated ability to navigate complex client situations effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with both children and sponsors is critical. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in communities with diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Additional Notes:
The Crisis Case Manager position is a full-time role that may require travel up to 70% of the time, including nights and weekends. The working environment may involve a hybrid schedule of remote and in-office work, depending on the local office's discretion. Compensation for this role is competitive and based on various factors, including labor market conditions and individual candidate experience. The IRC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity, ensuring reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application process. Benefits for full-time employees include paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a retirement savings plan with matching contributions.
