Job Overview:
The Sr. Product Manager, Fundraising will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the American Heart Association's fundraising products, particularly focusing on the American School Engagement program, which includes initiatives like Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. This position requires a strategic leader who will define the product vision and strategy for associated digital platform capabilities. The individual will be responsible for developing, prioritizing, and maintaining a product roadmap that spans 12 to 36 months, collaborating with delivery teams, stakeholders, and leadership. The role involves guiding strategic decisions, investment prioritization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate and launch digital experiences that align with the organization's goals and market needs. The Sr. Product Manager will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring successful launches and user adoption while driving ongoing enhancements and leading a shift towards a product lifecycle management approach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership for Product Strategy and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that aligns with fundraising program objectives. Set goals, define success metrics, and motivate teams across business, technology, and vendors. Conduct market research and customer feedback analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Drive innovation by exploring new product ideas and enhancements.
- Product Planning and Roadmapping: Work with cross-functional teams to create and prioritize product roadmaps, ensuring designs incorporate customer feedback. Define and manage product requirements, user stories, and feature backlogs. Make data-driven decisions to prioritize features based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Product Development and Launch: Coordinate with fundraising and technology teams to monitor the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery. Collaborate with internal technology and vendors for quality assurance and successful product launches. Manage funding processes and budget across the product lifecycle.
- Performance Tracking and Analytics: Define KPIs to measure product success and monitor performance post-launch. Analyze data and user feedback to iterate on product features. Evaluate the impact of new feature launches on business outcomes.
- Customer Focus and Relationship Building: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through direct interactions and market insights. Cultivate relationships with key volunteers and stakeholders to validate product direction.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster transparent communication across departments, ensuring a shared understanding of product strategies and goals. Present product plans and status updates to executive leadership. Develop visual communications to enhance clarity and collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics to inform product decisions.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Product Board, and Figma.
- A thorough understanding of current digital engagement trends and the ability to integrate these into the product vision.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred but not mandatory. Educational qualifications should align with the responsibilities of product management and strategic leadership.
Experience:
Candidates should possess at least 5 years of progressive experience in product management, demonstrating a successful track record of launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing product roadmaps is essential.
