Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel. All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. Offices will be reopening on a part-time basis in September 2021 and a full-time basis in January 2022; this position will resume to being based in the local office. Responsibilities The American Heart Association (AHA) has a great opportunity for a Part-time Internship in our National Center office . The location for this position is flexible and remote . This internship will focus on supporting the National Hypertension Control Initiative team with program support, administrative and outreach duties. We will gladly work with your schedule, but we are expecting this person to work approx. 20 hours each week. This duration of this internship is 9/2021-12/2021.   • Currently pursuing a BA/BS or higher in Public Health, Health Science, Biology or General Science.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to produce charts and graphs.
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:
  • AHA knowledge
  • Understanding of health disparity and health equity, public health, community health centers, community based organizations,
  • Prior experience with promoting health wellness programs and materials
