Project Summary:
The purpose of AMELA is to provide monitoring, evaluation, and learning
support services/assistance to strengthen the implementation of USAID development programs in Afghanistan, and to build the technical M&E knowledge and skills of USAID/Afghanistan Mission staff and stakeholders. The services provided under AMELA will contribute to supporting USAID/Afghanistan as an effective development organization with strong learning and adaptive management processes. RADP-East provides technical services to targeted agribusinesses to increase the competitiveness of apricot, dairy, tomato, and poultry value chains with the goal of expanding
sustainable agriculture-led
economic growth in eight target provinces of Eastern Afghanistan.
Position Summary:
The Social Scientist will assist in the
design, method, implementation of the evaluation, analyzing the data and drafting the report with the
team leader. This position will have an estimated level of effort of 54 days, under the direction of the AMELA management team and the RADP-E
Team Lead.

Responsibilities:
- Support Team Lead with desk review, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">technical analysis, and evaluation design
- Assist with designing evaluation tools, note taking, and translation into local languages
- Undertake key informant interviews and focus group discussions
- Establish and maintain productive collaborative relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
- Support data collection and perform data analysis
- Assist Team Lead as needed
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Agriculture, social science, Economics, or in a related field required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data management and data analysis of developing projects
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience evaluating agricultural value chains and markets projects in developing countries
- Ability to conduct interviews and focus group discussions
- Professional written and spoken fluency in English required
