Project Summary: The Middle East and North Africa Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Services (MENA MELS) Activity delivers high-quality technical support for monitoring, evaluation, and learning to the Middle East Bureau, its ten field missions, operating units, and implementing partners. Project services include monitoring systems, evaluations, assessments and research; analysis and synthesis; learning and utilization; and MEL capacity building and training. MENA MELS seeks a Local Logistics Coordinator to join a team of technical experts in an evaluation of the Middle East and North Africa Investment Initiative (MENA II) Program in Iraq. The activity was designed to advance development of the private sector in Iraq by providing support to early stage businesses to promote sustainable job creation, improve business competitiveness and encourage increased equity investment in early stage businesses. **Please note: Only Iraqi citizens are eligible for this position Position Summary: The Local Logistics Coordinator will provide operational, administrative, and logistical support to the MENA II Evaluation. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and is a short-term assignment in May- June 2020. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate local transportation and other arrangements for the evaluation team in Mosul for Iraqi/Kurdish team
  • Schedule interviews with key stakeholders and program beneficiaries
  • Prepare daily itineraries for data collection teams
  • Resolve any logistical challenges that arise
  • Take detailed notes during interviews as needed
  • Perform related duties to support the evaluation team during their visit, as required and assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree is required
  • Minimum of three years of field experience providing logistics and operations support in Iraq
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high volume of priorities, events, projects, and be able to stay organized
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills is required
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams and other video/voice calling software
  • Experience working in such roles with USAID projects is preferred
  • Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic required
  • Professional proficiency in English required
