Job Description
 
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture, focusing on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Agenda 2030. In 2018, UNESCO Phnom Penh office was designated as the Grant Agent for the fixed part of the 3rd consecutive Global Partnership for Education grant to support the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) in implementing the Strengthening Teacher Education Programmes in Cambodia (STEPCam), over a three year period from 2018-2021. More information about STEPCam, please visit our Website: https://en.unesco.org/node/312806 We are looking for a qualified Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to support STEPCam activities and work with relevant departments of MoEYS and other development partners. Tasks will vary but overall the specialist will provide technical support to the planning and monitoring of the STEPCam components focused on the Continuous Professional Development of teachers; in-service training for teachers of early grade learning; and upgrading the qualifications of teacher educators. The 11-month role will be based in our Phnom Penh office. The International Consultant will work in close consultation and collaboration with the STEPCam team, relevant technical departments of the MoEYS and other development partners.   • A relevant university degree in social science or education
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the Education Sector, providing technical assistance in the implementation of projects and programmes and/or their monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent planning, organizational, monitoring and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of South East Asia and Cambodia contexts considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with counterparts in government and at sub-national levels
  • Ability to deliver results amid tight deadlines.
