The American Heart Association is seeking a high energy, competitive, and achievement driven Corporate Development Director to be part of the Greater Denver Team! This position requires someone who has experience with large fundraising or sales goals and large events. If you have a strong fundraising or sales background OR if you have an event coordination background coupled with sales or fundraising, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and execution of social campaigns including Heart of Denver/Heart Ball and Go Red for Women. Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel. All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position will resume to being based in the local office. Responsibilities
  • Generate revenue through donor engagement and cultivation via the Heart of Denver campaign
  • Achieving assigned revenue goals by developing and maintaining relationships with donors, corporate and community partners
  • Driving new business development by soliciting and maintaining high-level corporate and patron sponsors by developing and executing year-round business and cultivation plans
  • Recruiting, orienting, and managing C-suite volunteer leadership based on nationally established methodologies
  • Goal setting with corporate companies and individuals to result in fundraising dollars and awareness
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the Denver Heart Ball and all related cultivation or mission-driven initiatives according to standard methodologies and event timeline
  • Confirming detailed, timely and accurate data entry of relevant information
  • Collaborating with other staff and volunteers as needed to promote and support local initiatives and to optimize event market strategy
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
  • 2+ years of experience with public event planning, working with and managing volunteer staff and 2 years of experience with promotions, sales, or fundraising strategies.
  • 2+ years of experience in negotiating services and managing service level agreements is preferred.
  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management, proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
  • Organization, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Candidates must be results driven with the ability to multitask work independently
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory up to 75.
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, spreadsheets and Customer Relationships Management systems.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
