Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel. All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position will resume to being based in the local office. Responsibilities The American Heart Association (AHA) has a great opportunity for a Part-time Intern in our Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine group located at our National Center office in Dallas, TX . This internship will last approximately 3 months. This internship will focus on supporting the Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine group and is intended to better your knowledge, understanding and experience in Data Science. You will have the opportunity to learn and work with staff from the Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine as well as other departments and volunteers. We will gladly work with your schedule, but we are expecting this person to work approx. 10-15 hours each week. Want to help get your resume to the top?   • Currently pursuing a BA/BS or higher in a related field of study.
  • Must be knowledgeable in R, python and a range of data science analysis software.
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:
  • AHA knowledge.
  • Understanding of health equity.
  • Prior experience with clinical data.
