Job Description
Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Staff Accountant.
This position description outlines the overall responsibilities of the Staff Accountant. This position is critical in providing support to project teams with financial management and overview. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager but will work daily with the project implementation teams and others. This position will be based in Burlington, Vermont.
The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include the following:
*Prepare and submit monthly invoices for Federal contracts ensuring that client invoices are billed accurately, consistently within award requirements, and on a timely basis;
*Review and process monthly international field accounting activity utilizing Oracle, Excel and QuickBooks;
*Perform required monthly project reconciliations;
*Assist field staff with accounting inquiries and in ensuring the implementation of corporate procedures and standard accounting practices;
*Review field office documentation for eligibility, accuracy, and completeness; and
*Participate in internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;
* 2 years of work experience in an office environment required;
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and to cooperate effectively in a team environment;
* Excellent MS Office suite skills;
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
* High level of reliability and follow-through;
* Very strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills;
* Fluency in Spanish or French preferred; and
* U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
