Responsibilities
We have an excellent opportunity for a
Sr .
Development Director – Heart Challenge in our Dallas, TX office. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in conjunction with the VP of Heart Challenge to expand the success of the Dallas CycleNation, Heart Walk, & Field Day campaigns across the market.
This position will be a part of the Heart Challenge team with a focus on new business in Dallas and successfully achieving an overall
fundraising goal through corporate sponsorship, individual giving, and participant income. The market goal is $10.5M. The individual goal range is $1.25M-$2.5M
Your Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Drive new business development through sponsorship and corporate fundraising. High focus on developing relationships with new companies.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate/community leaders to successfully drive participation in Heart Challenge.
- Manage peer-to-peer fundraising in participating Heart Challenge companies to achieve revenue goals.
- Perform donor/fundraiser data entry and generate donor/fundraising reports (Luminate, Dynamics.
- Monitor participant fundraising trends and implement proven strategies to maximize revenue for all Heart Challenge events in Texas.
- Serve as internal point person alongside VP of Heart Challenge to manage the Heart Challenge Leadership Team Kickoff, Executive Leadership Team meetings, Executives with Heart,
- Proactively provides event support for priority revenue generation.
- Organize and create AHA account team contacts, sponsorship contacts, proposals, letters of agreement, sponsorship payments, presentations and benefits delivered.
- Ensuring successful collaboration and implementation of National Heart Challenge strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 3 + years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
- 1 year of direct staff managerial experience preferably with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization.
- Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management, proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
- Organization, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Candidates must be results driven with the ability to multitask and must also be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory up to 75.
- Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
