Job Overview: The Executive Consultant position is designed to provide high-level administrative support to the Chief of the Water and Sanitation Division (WSA) within the Infrastructure and Energy Department (INE). This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the division by managing executive agendas, preparing briefing materials, and monitoring commitments and deadlines. The consultant will play a key role in fostering a culture of accountability and high-quality deliverables, which are essential for the division's success. The position requires a proactive individual who can conduct technical analyses, prepare decision-oriented materials, and synthesize complex information for senior management. The consultant will also be responsible for coordinating travel and meetings for the Division Chief, ensuring that all logistical aspects are handled efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Executive Consultant include conducting technical and operational analyses on the Division’s portfolio, preparing concise briefing packages for various engagements, producing analytical reports and presentations, conducting targeted research relevant to the division's work, coordinating inputs for briefs and reports, analyzing data for planning and decision-making, managing a tracking system for decisions and commitments, developing templates and quality standards for reports, managing the Division Chief’s calendar, and coordinating travel and meeting logistics. The consultant will also be expected to provide status reports on ongoing matters and escalate issues as necessary, ensuring that the division operates smoothly and effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, international relations, economics, communications, project management, or a related field. Specialized training in executive management or project management is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have at least five years of relevant professional experience, including three years of providing executive support to senior management. Experience in international organizations or development institutions is highly desirable, along with familiarity with quality assurance processes and IDB systems.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, international relations, economics, or project management. A specialized degree or training in executive management or organizational management is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, with at least three years dedicated to providing executive support to senior management. Experience in complex environments such as international organizations or development institutions is highly valued. Familiarity with quality assurance of executive materials and operational processes will be advantageous for candidates.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is considered a desirable asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse environment of the IDB Group.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time international consultant position with a contract duration of 19 months, extendable up to 48 months based on eligibility.
