The successful candidate will be embedded within the Radiation to Electronics (R2E) activity of the Accelerator Systems department. This role involves working at the intersection of project management, user access operations, and radiation effects research. The candidate will contribute to the successful delivery of RADNEXT 2030's objectives, gaining exposure to the European radiation hardness assurance community and CERN's accelerator infrastructure. Responsibilities include defining and coordinating workflows for facility access, improving online portals, providing scientific support for consortium activities, and engaging with the radiation effects community through training initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the CERN Project Engineer/Scientist include:
  • Contributing to the definition and coordination of the transnational access workflow for facilities within the RADNEXT 2030 framework.
  • Assisting in the definition, testing, and improvement of the facility access online portal.
  • Providing scientific support for the organization and delivery of RADNEXT 2030 consortium activities.
  • Supporting scientific communication, dissemination, and outreach activities related to RADNEXT 203
  • Contributing to applied research tasks, focusing on novel testing techniques and radiation environment characterization.
  • Supporting the integration of the HEARTS@CERN facility and its user management into the RADNEXT 2030 consortium.
  • Engaging with the broader radiation effects community through the RADNEXT 2030 user base and supporting training activities, including the Radiation Effects Testing Summer School.
