Job Overview:
The position involves developing and scheduling engaging, relevant, and timely content for WOPA’s social media platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and communication strategy. Volunteers will create clear and compelling captions, storytelling posts, and awareness content that highlight WOPA’s programs, impact, and community engagement. The role also includes designing visually appealing graphics using tools like Canva, monitoring social media performance, and suggesting strategies to enhance visibility and audience interaction. Volunteers will contribute ideas for campaigns and thematic posts related to gender equality and community development, ensuring all content reflects professionalism and aligns with WOPA’s values and communication standards. Feedback from the supervising team will be incorporated into content revisions as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and schedule engaging content for WOPA’s social media platforms, ensuring it aligns with the organization’s mission and communication strategy.
  • Create clear and compelling captions and storytelling posts that highlight WOPA’s programs and community engagement.
  • Design simple, visually appealing graphics using tools such as Canva, maintaining consistency with WOPA’s branding.
  • Monitor social media performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions) and suggest strategies for improvement.
  • Support content planning by contributing ideas for campaigns and thematic posts related to gender equality and community development.
  • Ensure all content reflects professionalism, accuracy, and alignment with WOPA’s values.
  • Incorporate feedback from the supervising team and revise content as required.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team to ensure effective execution of social media strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and persuasive content.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools, particularly Canva, or similar software.
  • Ability to analyze social media performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to gender equality and community development.

Educational Background:
A background in communications, marketing, social media management, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant experience and skills may also be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:
Previous experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing is highly desirable. Familiarity with gender equality issues and community development initiatives will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Liberia would be an asset but is not required.

This is a volunteer position, and selected individuals will work remotely. The role is part-time, and the duration of the assignment is not specified. Volunteers will receive relevant background information, branding guidelines, and guidance to effectively carry out their tasks.
