Job Overview:
The UNV Pacific team is seeking a creative and motivated Online Volunteer with graphic design skills to assist in developing engaging visual content for communication and outreach activities. This position is fully remote, allowing the volunteer to work from anywhere while collaborating with the communications team. The primary responsibility of the Online Volunteer will be to transform key messages, stories, and information into visually appealing graphics suitable for social media and other digital platforms. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute creatively to UNV's communication efforts and to promote the impact of volunteerism and UN Volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the UNV Communications Focal Point, the Online Volunteer will be responsible for designing social media graphics and visual content for UNV communication activities, which may include creating 10-20 graphics or infographics. The volunteer will develop simple and engaging infographics to effectively communicate key information, stories, and results. Additionally, they will support the design of visuals for various campaigns, events, awareness activities, and special observances. The volunteer will adapt graphics into different formats and sizes for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Collaboration with the communications team will be essential to ensure that visuals align with agreed briefs and key messages. The volunteer must ensure that all designs are consistent with UNV branding and visual identity guidelines, incorporate feedback, make necessary revisions, and submit all products in the agreed format. The number and type of outputs may vary based on the complexity of each product, and all materials will remain the intellectual property of UNV. Clear briefs and feedback will be provided throughout the assignment, and the volunteer is expected to submit editable design files where appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong graphic design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating previous work in creating engaging visual content. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools is essential. The candidate should also have a good understanding of social media platforms and their specific graphic requirements. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines are crucial for success in this role. Educational Background:
