Job Overview:
The IPC/MNCH Technical Manager is responsible for providing specialized technical leadership and ensuring quality assurance for infection prevention and control (IPC), maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) service readiness, and the integration of outbreak readiness into existing MNCH pathways. This position plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of ACHIEVE's IPC and MNCH activities, ensuring that they align with global standards and evidence-based practices. The role emphasizes strengthening infection prevention and control measures, enhancing facility readiness, building health worker and community capacity, and improving risk communication and early identification of health issues. The Technical Manager will work closely with the Ministry of Health, district health authorities, health facilities, and other partners to ensure effective implementation and sustained outcomes in MNCH services. This mid-level management position focuses on operational delivery and maintaining technical quality in all aspects of the role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IPC/MNCH Technical Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: providing technical guidance and quality assurance for IPC, MNCH, and emergency preparedness activities; supporting the implementation of evidence-based approaches to enhance maternal, newborn, and child health service readiness; offering technical assistance and capacity development to partners for integrating IPC and emergency preparedness into routine MNCH services; monitoring implementation progress and ensuring timely achievement of project objectives; developing and disseminating technical tools, standards, job aids, and training materials; conducting technical reviews of project deliverables to ensure quality and consistency; supporting assessments of service readiness and IPC practices; contributing to routine monitoring and documentation of project achievements and lessons learned; maintaining liaison with district health authorities and field teams; and performing any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree and have at least 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They should have knowledge of global technical standards and guidance related to IPC, MNCH, and health emergency preparedness. Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention and control, maternal, newborn, and child health, and epidemic preparedness is essential. Additionally, experience supporting U.S.-donor funded health programs is required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field. A Bachelor's degree in public health, nursing, or a related discipline is preferred, particularly for candidates who may not meet the Master's degree requirement but have significant experience in the field.
