Job Overview:
The Case Coordination Caseworker plays a crucial role in providing trauma-informed services to refugees and other immigrants who qualify under the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The primary objective of this position is to facilitate a positive integration experience for clients, ensuring they achieve self-sufficiency. The Caseworker will engage closely with clients to develop tailored service plans that address their unique needs and preferences. This involves utilizing a wide array of resources, including financial, medical, social, and vocational services, while adhering to eligibility and program requirements. The Caseworker is expected to conduct thorough assessments of client needs, create actionable self-sufficiency plans, and provide ongoing support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Caseworker's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at supporting clients effectively. Key duties include conducting intake services to assess client needs, developing individualized self-sufficiency plans, and providing direct support through referrals and advocacy. The Caseworker will receive referrals for case management, participate in case conferences, and monitor client progress towards established goals. They will also follow up on referrals made to other programs, document client interactions in accordance with program requirements, and maintain accurate records in databases. Building and maintaining relationships with local service providers is essential for the benefit of clients. The Caseworker may also train and lead volunteers and interns, conduct outreach to inform service providers and refugees about available programs, and assist with eligibility screenings and benefits applications. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring that all services are linguistically appropriate and advocating for clients with mainstream service providers. The Caseworker will complete case notes promptly, assist in preparing donor funding reports, and actively participate in program meetings and staff development activities.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Case Coordination Caseworker position should possess a strong educational background, ideally with an undergraduate degree in Social Work or a related field. However, comparable work experience may be considered as a substitute. A minimum of 2 years of case management experience in a social services environment is required, with a preference for experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Public speaking and presentation skills are preferred, as is the ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment. This position offers a combination of standard office work, remote tasks, and fieldwork within the service delivery area. Candidates should be prepared for occasional weekend and evening work as needed. The role requires the ability to lift 35 to 50 pounds, which may include furniture, household supplies, and food boxes. Compensation for this position is set at a pay rate of $20.97 per hour, with variations based on factors such as labor market conditions, job type, and individual candidate experience.
