Job Overview:
The Community Development Assistant for Agroforestry will play a crucial role in supporting the field team in implementing community development and sustainable livelihood interventions for targeted Social Forestry Business Groups (KUPS) in Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah. This position is designed to enhance institutional capacity, promote sustainable livelihood practices, and improve market and financing readiness among local communities. The Assistant will work closely with the Sumatra Research and Program Development Lead and collaborate with technical and administrative teams to ensure effective project execution. The role involves regular travel to project sites and villages, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and stakeholder communication in achieving project goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in forestry, agriculture, sociology, agribusiness, rural development, environmental studies, economics, or related fields. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in community facilitation, livelihood development, ecotourism programs, social forestry, stakeholder engagement, or rural enterprise development is required. Preference will be given to candidates based in or originating from the Aceh Tengah or Bener Meriah region. A strong understanding of community development approaches and rural economic systems in the Gayo highlands is essential, along with experience working with KUPS, village enterprises, cooperatives, or government institutions. Candidates should also have experience facilitating trainings and participatory planning processes, as well as a basic understanding of business development and market linkage.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as forestry, agriculture, sociology, agribusiness, rural development, environmental studies, or economics is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of community development and agroforestry practices.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in areas such as community facilitation, livelihood development, ecotourism programs, social forestry, stakeholder engagement, or rural enterprise development. Candidates should have practical experience working with local communities and organizations, particularly in the context of agroforestry and sustainable development.
Languages:
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory, as it is essential for effective communication with local stakeholders and communities. Knowledge of English is also beneficial, as it may be required for reporting and communication with international partners.

- Conducting baseline assessments, monitoring visits, and field data collection for targeted KUPS and cooperatives.
- Collecting, organizing, and maintaining project documentation, including photos, participant lists, and training documentation.
- Supporting communication with local governments, civil society organizations, and private sector actors to facilitate program implementation.
- Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure program alignment and support.

- The consultant will be compensated on a daily-rate basis, with a maximum of 90 working days for the entire contract period, averaging 20 working days per month. The position is locally engaged, and Indonesian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must have authorization to work in Indonesia to be eligible for this position. The role involves frequent travel between villages and sub-districts within Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah, and the organization offers travel insurance for any travel duties assigned.
