Job Overview:
The Education Technical Assistant position is designed to support the implementation of education projects within the humanitarian context of Rakhine State, Myanmar. The role involves a significant amount of travel (approximately 70%) to various project sites, where the assistant will monitor and report on project activities, ensuring compliance with established plans and NRC standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Technical Assistant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: monitoring and reporting on project activities, ensuring compliance with NRC standards; administrating payments and entitlements for volunteer teachers and school children; collaborating with community education committees for planning and enrollment; distributing and monitoring school materials; assisting volunteer teachers; suggesting improvements for educational activities; reporting protection-related concerns; conducting data collection; preparing field reports; and filing relevant documents as required by the line manager. Specific responsibilities will include mobilizing communities for education activities, participating in planning and implementation of education campaigns, developing project materials, maintaining project records, supporting monitoring and evaluation activities, conducting community consultations, facilitating training sessions, and assisting with budgeting and administrative tasks related to education activities.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Education Technical Assistant position should possess at least two years of experience working with education projects in a humanitarian context or recovery settings. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred, along with relevant experience in complex and volatile environments. Applicants should demonstrate documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, possess fair English and computer skills, and have good administrative, accounting, and reporting skills. Training and facilitation skills are also essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision. Flexibility, creativity, and a cooperative attitude are important traits for success in this role.
Educational Background:
The ideal candidate for the Education Technical Assistant position should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
