Job Overview:
The Program Manager for Global Markets will lead key diagnostic market-shaping activities within the CHAI Global Markets Team (GMT), particularly focusing on the SECURE project aimed at improving maternal health outcomes. This role involves designing and maintaining global supply and demand-side product strategies, managing relationships with diagnostic companies, and collaborating with various stakeholders to create markets for affordable and high-quality diagnostic products in low- and middle-income countries. The Manager will also coordinate efforts with other international organizations to ensure alignment in priority areas, requiring strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant work experience is required. Candidates should have experience in the private sector, particularly in strategy consulting or investment banking, and ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic, or medical device industries. Exceptional analytical and communication skills are essential, along with a creative mindset for developing innovative solutions to complex health challenges. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and build strong relationships quickly is crucial.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees in relevant fields such as public health, business administration, or related disciplines that support the role's responsibilities.
Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of work experience, ideally in fast-paced environments such as strategy consulting or investment banking, with a strong preference for experience in the pharmaceutical or diagnostics sectors. Proven experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects is essential.
Languages:
While specific language requirements are not mentioned, proficiency in English is mandatory. Additional languages relevant to the regions served by CHAI would be advantageous.

This position may be offered at either the Manager or Senior Manager level, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. - Collaborate with GMT leadership and external stakeholders to develop work plans that align with market shaping goals and grant deliverables.
- Oversee the delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes, including managing outputs from subcontracted partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives in diagnostics companies and various organizations, leading negotiations on pricing and supply terms.
- Monitor the market ecosystem to identify risks and opportunities, adapting program strategies as necessary.
- Represent CHAI to major donors and external partners, engaging in relationship-building to further impact goals.
- Engage scientific experts for technical support on product development, regulatory processes, and quality issues.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and management within the organization and with external partners. 1
- Manage oneself and direct reports effectively within a matrixed organization, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
